Position Overview
Registered Midwife
The Midwife is an autonomous practitioner who will provide safe, flexible, maternity care to women in a variety of settings such as the client’s home, in community clinics and in hospitals. The midwife is to be the primary care provider to women during the childbearing year within a multidisciplinary team and will provide service delivery in accordance with the Midwifery Model of Practice and standards of the College of Midwives of Manitoba.
Requirements/Qualifications
• Graduate of an educational program approved by the College of Midwives of Manitoba
• Eligible for registration by the College of Midwives of Manitoba
• Current CPR certification
• Current Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) certification with intubations
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to function as a member of an interdisciplinary team
• Ability to work flexible hours scheduled according to client needs
